Welcome to Sedier (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), a product of Akagawa Innovations Inc. (the data controller for the purposes of this policy). At Sedier, we respect your privacy. This policy explains how the Sedier app collects, uses, and safeguards your data.

1. Using Sedier Without an Account

You can use the core features of Sedier without creating an account. If you do, the layouts you create are stored only on your device and are not sent to our servers.

Layouts created without an account are automatically deleted after 30 days. The app warns you before this happens. If you create an account, your existing local layouts are uploaded and kept with your account.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information
If you create an account, we collect and store your email address, your name, and your profile image if you provide one. Accounts are handled by Clerk, our authentication provider. You can sign in with Sign in with Apple, an email link, or a supported third-party provider.

Organization Information
Sedier accounts can belong to an organization. We store which organization you belong to and the plan tier assigned to that organization, because this determines which features are available to you. Content saved at organization scope may be visible to other members of your organization.

Content You Create
When signed in, we store the layouts you create and sync them across your devices. This includes the layout name, the furniture you place, the position and orientation of each item within your space, and the materials and finishes you select. We also store which furniture items you mark as favourites.

Room Models You Upload
If you import a 3D room scan (a USDZ file), that file is uploaded to our storage and associated with your account or organization.

Spatial and Sensor Data
To place furniture in your room, the App uses Apple's room sensing and hand tracking. This processing happens on your device. We do not receive or store scans of your room, camera imagery, or hand tracking data. What we do store is the position of the furniture you place, which describes your arrangement but not your room itself.

Photos
If you grant photo library access, the App reads your most recent screenshots so you can attach one to a layout. Photos are read on your device, and only an image you explicitly attach to a layout is uploaded.

Device Verification
The App uses Apple App Attest to confirm that requests come from a genuine, unmodified installation. This produces a device token that we store to protect our service from abuse. It does not identify you.

Feedback and Contact Requests
If you submit feedback, we receive your message and, if you choose to include them, your name and email address. If you use the in-app contact form to ask about an organization plan, we receive your email address, phone number, country, and preferred contact language. Both are delivered to our team through Slack.

Anonymous Usage Metrics
We collect anonymised usage data through TelemetryDeck, including feature interactions, performance metrics, and session-level behaviour. This data does not identify you. See the TelemetryDeck Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Operate the App and sync your content across your devices
  • Determine which features are available to you and your organization
  • Protect the service from abuse and fraudulent requests
  • Analyse anonymous usage patterns to improve features and performance
  • Respond to feedback, support requests, and plan enquiries

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Clerk: authentication and account management. Clerk processes your email address, name, and profile image, and sends you the sign-in email links you request. See the Clerk Privacy Policy.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): our backend and file storage, hosted in the ap-northeast-1 (Tokyo) region. Your account information, layouts, and uploaded room models are stored here. AWS acts as a processor on our behalf. See the AWS Privacy Notice.
  • TelemetryDeck: anonymous usage metrics. See the TelemetryDeck Privacy Policy.
  • Slack: feedback and contact requests are delivered to our team here for review and response. See the Slack Privacy Policy.
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple and App Attest. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not integrate with any third-party services beyond those listed above.

5. Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your account from within the App, under Account → Manage Account. This deletes your account and the content stored with it, including your layouts, favourites, and uploaded room models. This cannot be undone.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data and content: kept while your account is active, and deleted when you delete your account, subject to any legal retention requirement.
  • Layouts created without an account: deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Feedback and contact requests: retained indefinitely. We do not delete them automatically.
  • Anonymous usage metrics: retained in aggregated form and not linked to any individual.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete the personal information we hold about you
  • Export your personal information in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis for processing
  • Object to certain processing activities

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@sedier.app. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.

If you are located in a jurisdiction with a data protection authority (for example the EU or UK), you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Children’s Privacy

Sedier is not intended for children under the age of 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us at legal@sedier.app so we can remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any material changes will be posted in the App and on our website, and we will update the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
